Albert Edward Shepherd VC was an English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
Serving as a Corporal in the British Army, Shepherd's actions earned him the nation's premier decoration for valor. His service is commemorated within the history of the King's Royal Rifle Corps and successor regiments.
Today, his Victoria Cross medal group is preserved and publicly displayed, honoring his legacy and service. It is housed at the Royal Green Jackets (Rifles) Museum in Winchester, England.
