Lieutenant Colonel Charles Groves Wright Anderson was a South African-born Australian soldier, farmer, and politician. He served with distinction in both World War I and World War II, initially with the British Army and later with the Australian Army. Anderson was a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
During his military career, Anderson demonstrated exceptional leadership and bravery under fire. His service spanned multiple decades and theatres of war, earning him numerous campaign medals and decorations from both global conflicts, as well as commemorative coronation and jubilee medals.
Following his distinguished military service, Anderson transitioned to civilian life, where he became a farmer and entered politics. He successfully ran for public office and served as a member of the Australian House of Representatives, continuing his service to his country in the political arena.
