Charles J. Bibber

Gunner's Mate Charles J. Bibber was an American sailor who served in the United States Navy during the American Civil War. He is best known for his heroic actions during the First Battle of Fort Fisher, which took place in late December 1864.

While serving aboard the USS Agawam on December 23, 1864, Bibber demonstrated exceptional bravery under fire. His actions during this critical engagement earned him the nation's highest military decoration for valor.

For his gallantry during the battle, Bibber was awarded the Medal of Honor, cementing his place in American naval history as a distinguished veteran of the Civil War.
