Francis Cornwallis Maude

Colonel Francis Cornwallis Maude VC CB was an English officer in the British Army and a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.

Maude achieved his most notable renown during his service in the British Army, where his gallantry and leadership in combat actions earned him widespread recognition. He eventually achieved the rank of Colonel.
