He entered hostile fire to save a dying comrade in the water
Frank T. O. Walker was born in South Boston, Massachusetts, on 6 October 1878. His Medal of Honor record credits his service to Burlington, Massachusetts. During the Philippine-American War he served as a private in Company F, 46th Infantry, United States Volunteers.
On 18 January 1900, near Taal on Luzon, a comrade was sinking beneath the water while enemy fire swept the area. Walker went to his assistance despite that fire and brought the dying man out.
Walker received the Medal of Honor on 11 March 1902. He survived the campaign, but his life was short: he died at Worcester, Massachusetts, on 29 October 1904, aged twenty-six. He was buried in North Burial Ground at Bristol, Rhode Island.
