Lieutenant Colonel George Vincent Fosbery VC was an English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He served in the Indian Army and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
In addition to his distinguished military career, Fosbery was a designer and inventor of firearms, contributing to military technology during his lifetime. His service and actions earned him the prestigious Victoria Cross.
His medals, including the Victoria Cross, are now preserved and on display in the Lord Ashcroft Gallery at the Imperial War Museum in London. His Victoria Cross was previously sold at an auction in Alberta in 1997.
