Sergeant, British Army
George Sellar was a Scottish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Serving as a Sergeant in the British Army, Sellar demonstrated remarkable courage during his military career.
Following his distinguished military service, Sellar passed away, leaving behind a family that included a son, Edward Sellar, born in 1887, and twin daughters born in 1889.
Today, his legacy is preserved through the public display of his Victoria Cross at the Regimental Museum of The Queen's Own Highlanders, located at Fort George in Highland, Scotland.
