Henry Mitchell Jones VC (also known as Henry Michael Jones) was an Irish officer in the British Army who became a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
Jones earned his Victoria Cross for his heroic actions during the Crimean War. His exceptional bravery under enemy fire distinguished him as one of the premier gallantry recipients of his era.
Following his distinguished military career, Jones transitioned to public service and served as a British diplomat in his later life. His Victoria Cross is currently displayed at the Victoria Barracks in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
