James Byrne (VC)

James Byrne VC was an Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He served as a Sergeant in the British Army.

His Victoria Cross is historically preserved and displayed at The Royal Ulster Rifles Museum in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

As a highly decorated non-commissioned officer, his legacy of valor remains an important part of British and Commonwealth military history.
