James McPhie was a Scottish corporal in the British Army who became a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.

On September 27, 1963, his brother John B. McPhie presented the Victoria Cross to the Imperial War Museum in London, England, where it remains on display to honor his memory and sacrifice.
