Colonel, British Army
Colonel John Cridlan Barrett VC, TD was an English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
Barrett served in the British Army during his military career, eventually achieving the rank of Colonel. He was also a recipient of the Territorial Decoration, marking his long and dedicated service in the Territorial Force.
His Victoria Cross is preserved and on display at the Royal Leicestershire Regiment Museum Collection located in the Newarke Houses Museum, Leicester, serving as a lasting testament to his heroic actions.
