John E. Moran was a captain in the United States Army who served during the Philippine–American War. He is best known for his actions during this conflict, which earned him the nation's highest military decoration for valor, the Medal of Honor.
Following his military service, Moran lived in Great Falls, Montana, where he eventually passed away and was laid to rest. His legacy remains as one of the distinguished gallery of Medal of Honor recipients from the early 20th century.
