Biography

John Lyons VC was a nineteenth-century soldier of the British Army who was awarded the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.

He was born in County Carlow, Ireland, and later served in the British Army during his military career, achieving the rank of Corporal.

His Victoria Cross is preserved and displayed for the public at the Green Howards Museum in Richmond, Yorkshire, England, as a lasting tribute to his gallantry and service.
