MacGregor's distinguished military career spanned both of the twentieth century's global conflicts, demonstrating exceptional leadership and bravery on the battlefield. His remarkable service earned him several of the nation's highest military honors.
Over his years of service in the Canadian Army, MacGregor rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In addition to the Victoria Cross, his gallantry was recognized with the Military Cross and Bar, the Distinguished Conduct Medal, and the Canadian Efficiency Decoration.
