Biography
Major John Mackenzie, VC, DCM was a Scottish officer in the British Army who served with distinction during his military career. He was a highly decorated soldier, earning both the Victoria Cross and the Distinguished Conduct Medal for his actions.
The Victoria Cross is the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Mackenzie reached the rank of Major during his service.
