Biography
John Ryan VC was a British Army soldier and an Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
He served at the rank of Lance Corporal within the British Army. His actions during his service earned him the prestigious decoration for his extreme bravery under fire.
His Victoria Cross is preserved and displayed for public viewing at The York & Lancaster Regiment Museum, located in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England.
