John Weir Foote was a Canadian military chaplain and politician who served with distinction during the Second World War. He is uniquely remembered as the only Canadian chaplain ever to be awarded the Victoria Cross, the highest award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
