Joseph Thomas Kaeble

Joseph Thomas Keable (often spelled Kaeble) was a Canadian soldier who served with distinction during the First World War. He served in the Canadian Army, demonstrating exceptional bravery on the Western Front. He achieved the rank of Corporal during his military service.

Keable became the first French Canadian soldier to be decorated with both the Victoria Cross and the Military Medal. The Victoria Cross is the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
