Biography
Joseph Trewavas was an Able Seaman in the Royal Navy who distinguished himself during the Crimean War. He is celebrated as a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest decoration for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
