Lorne Campbell (VC)

Brigadier Lorne MacLaine Campbell was a distinguished British Army officer and a Scottish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.

During his military career, Campbell demonstrated exceptional leadership and bravery on the battlefield, earning multiple high-level decorations for his service. His actions during his service solidified his reputation as an outstanding combat commander and a highly respected leader within the British Army.

In addition to the Victoria Cross, his gallantry and meritorious service were recognized with the Distinguished Service Order with Bar, an appointment as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire, and four mentions in despatches. He was also awarded the Territorial Decoration and the American Legion of Merit.
