Biography
He showed gallant conduct while his ship lay in Chilean port
Patrick Regan was born in 1852 in Queenstown, County Cork, Ireland. He served as an ordinary seaman in the United States Navy aboard USS Pensacola.
On 30 July 1873 in Coquimbo Harbor, Chile, Regan demonstrated gallant conduct while serving aboard the ship. He received the Medal of Honor for the action. The citation gives no further description of the individual act.
His award records an instance of distinguished naval service during the period between major wars.
