Peter H. Quinn

He charged enemy positions with eleven other cavalry scouts.

Peter H. Quinn was born in May 1873 in San Francisco, California. He served as a private with Company L, 4th United States Cavalry in the Philippines.

On 13 May 1899 at San Miguel de Mayumo, Luzon, Quinn and 11 other scouts attacked without waiting for their supporting battalion. They charged about 150 yards against roughly 300 defenders whose position required a frontal assault, routing the opposing force.

Quinn received the Medal of Honor on 14 June 1906 and later held the rank of trumpeter. He died on 19 April 1934 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

With 11 other scouts, without waiting for the supporting battalion to aid them or to get into a position to do so, charged over a distance of about 150 yards and completely routed about 300 of the enemy, who were in line and in a position that could only be carried by a frontal attack.
