Lieutenant Philip Kenneth Edward Curtis VC was a British Army officer who was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross, the highest award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Curtis served with the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, attached to the Gloucestershire Regiment.
He received his nation's highest honor for his outstanding bravery and self-sacrifice during the Battle of the Imjin River in the Korean War. During this critical engagement, his actions proved pivotal in defending key positions against overwhelming enemy forces.
Following his death in action, the Victoria Cross was presented to his family on 6 July 1954. His medal is currently displayed at the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry Museum in Bodmin, Cornwall, honoring his legacy of ultimate devotion to duty.
