Major, New Zealand Army
Reginald Stanley Judson was a New Zealand recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that could be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
He served in the New Zealand Military Forces during the First World War. He was awarded the Victoria Cross for his conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty during the Second Battle of Bapaume. In addition to the Victoria Cross, his distinguished service during the war was recognized with several other prominent gallantry decorations.
His Victoria Cross was later displayed at the QEII Army Memorial Museum in Waiouru. Along with several other medals, it was stolen in December 2007 but was successfully recovered in February 2008 following a reward offer.
