Robert Milton Boody was an American soldier who fought in the American Civil War. Serving with the Union Army, he achieved the rank of First Lieutenant. During his military service, Boody demonstrated exceptional bravery in key engagements of the war, specifically during the Battle of Williamsburg in May 1862 and the Battle of Chancellorsville in May 1863.
For his gallantry in action during these two pivotal battles, Boody was awarded the Medal of Honor, the highest military decoration in the United States. He was officially presented with the medal on July 8, 1896, several decades after the conflict ended, cementing his legacy in American military history.
