Biography
Staff Sergeant Ryan M. Pitts is a former United States Army soldier and the ninth living recipient of the Medal of Honor from the War in Afghanistan. He served with distinction during the Battle of Wanat on July 13, 2008, where he defended an observation post against a significant enemy force despite being severely wounded.
