First Lieutenant, U.S. Army
Stephen Edward Karopczyc was a United States Army officer and a posthumous recipient of the Medal of Honor. He was a 1961 graduate of Chaminade High School, a 1965 graduate of Spring Hill College, then served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. He served as a First Lieutenant with Company A, 2d Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division.
