Biography

Surgeon Valentine Munbee McMaster VC was an officer in the British Army's medical service who was awarded the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.

McMaster's service is distinguished by his valorous actions under fire as a Surgeon. His dedication to his patients and duty during active operations earned him the empire's premier military decoration.

His legacy and heroism are preserved for the public, with his Victoria Cross being displayed at the National War Museum of Scotland inside Edinburgh Castle.
