William Alchesay, also known as Alchisay and Alchise, was a prominent chief of the White Mountain Apache tribe who served with distinction as an Indian Scout in the United States Army. He attained the rank of Sergeant and was recognized for his exceptional bravery during the conflicts in the American Southwest.
