Colonel William George Cubitt was a highly distinguished officer who served in the British Indian Army. Throughout his long and illustrious career, he demonstrated exceptional bravery and leadership, most notably during his service in India where he earned the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
In addition to his Victoria Cross, Cubitt's exceptional military service was recognized with the Distinguished Service Order and multiple Mentions in Despatches. He ultimately rose to the rank of Colonel in the Indian Army, leaving behind a legacy of dedicated service and courage under fire.
