Order of Christ

Catalog description

The Order of Christ is one of Portugal's highest orders of merit. Established in 1319 by King Denis of Portugal, it succeeded the Knights Templar in Portugal after the suppression of the Templar Order. Today it is awarded for outstanding services to Portugal in public administration, diplomacy, military service, culture, science, and national interests.
