Sergeant Albert Mountain VC was an English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He served in the British Army during the First World War.
Throughout his service, Mountain demonstrated exceptional bravery under fire, earning some of the most distinguished military decorations of the era. His actions during the Great War cemented his legacy as a highly decorated British soldier.
In addition to the Victoria Cross, his gallantry was recognized internationally by the French government, which bestowed upon him both the Croix de guerre and the Médaille militaire for his service on the Western Front.
