Petty Officer, Royal Navy
Alfred Edward Sephton VC was an English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
Serving as a Petty Officer in the Royal Navy, Sephton demonstrated extraordinary valor during his service. His actions earned him the nation's premier award for gallantry, cementing his place in British naval history.
His Victoria Cross was later kept at Coventry Cathedral, from which it was unfortunately stolen in 1990. Despite this loss, his legacy of courage and devotion to duty remains honored.
