Godfrey Meynell was a British Indian Army officer who served with distinction during operations on the North-West Frontier of India. He rose to the rank of Captain during his military career, demonstrating exceptional leadership and dedication to his men in the face of formidable opposition.
Meynell's service was marked by extraordinary gallantry, culminating in his action on 29 September 1935 during the Mohmand campaign. While leading his men against a heavily armed and numerically superior enemy force, he fought with utmost bravery until he was mortally wounded.
