Sergeant, U.S. Army
Gotfred Jensen was a United States Army soldier who served as a Sergeant during the Philippine–American War. He distinguished himself as a member of Young's Scouts, a specialized group of scouts operating during the conflict. For his conspicuous gallantry in action, he became one of thirteen Scouts awarded the nation's highest military decoration for actions taking place between May 16 and May 19, 1899.
Following his military service, Sergeant Jensen returned to civilian life. He is laid to rest in the Veteran's Home Cemetery located in Port Orchard, Washington, where his service and sacrifice continue to be honored.
