James Bergin VC was an Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.

He served as a Private in the British Army, specifically within the Duke of Wellington's Regiment. His actions during his service earned him the nation's premier award for valor under fire.

His Victoria Cross is preserved and displayed for the public at the Duke of Wellington's Regimental Museum, located in the Bankfield Museum in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England.
