Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Air Force
Jay Zeamer Jr. was a pilot of the United States Army Air Forces in the South Pacific during World War II, who received the Medal of Honor for valor during a B-17 Flying Fortress mission on June 16, 1943.
During his service in the Pacific, Zeamer distinguished himself through extraordinary heroism and outstanding flight leadership. He was a highly decorated aviator, earning multiple awards for valor and meritorious achievement, including the Medal of Honor, two Silver Stars, and two Distinguished Flying Crosses.
After the war, he transitioned to the newly formed United States Air Force and eventually retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Outside of his military career, he became an aeronautical engineer and worked within the aerospace industry.
