John Henry Stephen Dimmer

Lieutenant Colonel John Henry Stephen Dimmer was a highly decorated British Army officer who served with distinction during World War I. He achieved great renown as an English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.

His courageous actions in combat earned him some of the most respected military decorations of the British Empire. In addition to the Victoria Cross, his gallantry was recognized with the Military Cross and multiple Mentions in Despatches.

Dimmer's legendary service and sacrifice are permanently honored in the United Kingdom. His Victoria Cross and other medals are proudly displayed at the Royal Green Jackets (Rifles) Museum in Winchester, England, where his legacy continues to inspire future generations.
