Sergeant, British Army
John Hogan VC was an English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
He served as a Sergeant in the British Army. He received his medal in 1914 from King George V at a ceremony in Buckingham Palace.
Hogan's Victoria Cross is currently held and displayed in the Oldham Civic Centre, located in Oldham, Greater Manchester.
