Leonard Louis Alvarado was a Specialist Four in the United States Army who served during the Vietnam War. He is a posthumous recipient of the Medal of Honor, the United States' highest military decoration for valor, awarded for his conspicuous gallantry in action.
During his service in the Vietnam War, Specialist Alvarado demonstrated extraordinary heroism under fire. His actions saved the lives of several comrades and ultimately cost him his life. In addition to the Medal of Honor, his bravery was recognized with several other valor and service decorations.
