Biography
Group Captain Leonard Henry Trent was a highly distinguished New Zealand aviator and senior officer in the Royal Air Force. He served with great distinction during his military career, showcasing exceptional leadership and courage in the face of the enemy.
Trent is most famous as a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. His actions during his service cemented his legacy as one of the most revered aviators of his generation.
In addition to the Victoria Cross, his outstanding contributions to aerial operations were recognized with the award of the Distinguished Flying Cross. He continued his service in the Royal Air Force, eventually reaching the rank of Group Captain before his retirement.
