Biography

Commander Loftus William Jones VC was an English officer of the Royal Navy. He served during the First World War and was a posthumous recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.

He achieved the rank of Commander and is best remembered for his heroic actions and leadership at sea. His Victoria Cross was later acquired for public display at the Imperial War Museum in London, ensuring his legacy of valor is preserved for future generations.

His service represents the highest traditions of the Royal Navy during a period of intense global conflict, cementing his place in British military history.
