Sergeant, U.S. Army
Milton Hanna was an American soldier who served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during his military career.
Hanna, along with eight other members of his company, performed acts of bravery that would earn them the nation's highest military decoration. These actions occurred during a skirmish with Confederate cavalry forces.
On February 15, 1863, in Nolensville, Tennessee, Hanna exhibited the gallantry that led to his recognition. For his actions during this engagement, he was awarded the Medal of Honor.
