Second Lieutenant, U.S. Army
Orville Tyron Chamberlain was an American soldier who served in the United States Army during the American Civil War. He achieved the rank of Second Lieutenant during his military service.
Chamberlain was awarded the Medal of Honor, the United States' highest military decoration for bravery during combat, for his heroic actions during the Battle of Chickamauga in Georgia on September 20, 1863. He was officially presented with the medal decades later, on March 11, 1896.
