William Hampden Sage was a major general in the United States Army who served with distinction during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He is best remembered for his heroic actions during the Philippine–American War, specifically at the Battle of Zapote Bridge on June 13, 1899, which earned him the nation's highest military decoration, the Medal of Honor.
