William James Lendrim VC was an Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He served as a Sergeant-Major in the British Army's Royal Engineers.

During his distinguished service, he demonstrated exceptional bravery and devotion to duty, earning some of the nation's and its allies' most revered decorations. His acts of gallantry cemented his legacy as a military hero.

His Victoria Cross is preserved and displayed at the Royal Engineers Museum in Chatham, England, serving as a lasting testament to his heroic deeds and military service.
