Flight Lieutenant William Reid was a Scottish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
Reid earned this premier decoration for valor while serving as a bomber pilot in the Royal Air Force Bomber Command during the Second World War.
