Lieutenant-Colonel William Rennie VC was a Scottish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
Rennie served with distinction in the British Army, eventually reaching the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. His courageous actions on the battlefield earned him the United Kingdom's premier award for valor.
His Victoria Cross is preserved and displayed at the Cameronians Regimental Museum in Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland, having been acquired by the museum in 1969 to preserve his legacy for future generations.
