Catalog description
The Imperial Russian Order of St Stanislaus was incorporated into the honours system of the Russian Empire in 1831 after originating as a Polish order. It became one of the principal Imperial Russian orders for civil and military service. The Second Class was represented by a cross worn from the order ribbon at the neck. This catalog entry represents the plain Second Class without swords, as confirmed for Joseph Whiteside Boyle.
