Catalog description
The Army Distinguished Unit Citation was established in 1942 to recognize units of the United States Army and qualifying allied or attached units for extraordinary heroism in action against an armed enemy. The degree of collective heroism required was comparable to that required for the Distinguished Service Cross for an individual. Its emblem consists of an ultramarine blue ribbon enclosed in a gold frame. On 3 November 1966, the Distinguished Unit Citation was redesignated the Presidential Unit Citation (Army).
